Nature called, it said you're doing January wrong 👀

Our assignment comes with the alignment. Too many people look for the assignment without first finding their alignment.

Jim Hodges

Hey Reader,

Here’s the truth no one talks about: The calendar says it’s a new year, but nature says it’s not. 👀

January isn’t for pushing or blooming—it’s for resting, releasing, and preparing.

Deep down, you know this.

Look at nature.

The trees aren’t rushing to bloom.

The earth isn’t bursting with life just yet.

It’s still letting go of the old, making space for what’s next.

You’re being invited to honor that rhythm, too.

Our ancestors understood this.

They honored the real new year—the one that begins in the spring, when life wakes up and blooms.

Right now, these months are about letting go—of fear, resistance, and everything that's holding you back.

But every year, the world tells you the same story: Set goals. Hustle harder. Fix yourself.

Here’s the problem: You can’t grow into something new while dragging around the old.

And part of the old, is resistance. It keeps you stuck, feeling heavy and small.

Resistance isn’t obvious.

It manifests subtly as fear, procrastination, self-doubt, and even the urge to pursue perfection.

But here’s the truth: You can’t bloom into who you’re meant to be until you face it.

This month Reader, I’m sharing a 4-part video series to help you do just that.

It’s not about striving or hustling.

It’s about aligning yourself with life’s rhythm so that, come spring, you’re ready to rise.

Here’s what we’ll explore:
Part 1: The Hidden Truth About Resistance: How to Make It Your Ally for Change in 2025
We’ll uncover how patterns like fear, procrastination, and self-doubt are forms of resistance, and you’ll learn how to take your first step toward growth by turning resistance into an ally.

Part 2: What’s Really Stopping You (It’s Not What You Think) and How to Finally Move Forward
Resistance isn’t just about habits or behaviors—it’s rooted in something deeper.

Part 3: Aligning with Genuine Change
Learn simple self-auditing techniques to align with your natural energy and life’s rhythms.

Part 4: Thriving Beyond Resistance
Create the space needed for true transformation and live in flow with your authentic self.

Nature doesn’t resist death and rebirth—so why would you?

This is your season to release.

Just think, Reader, what if you did something completely different this year?

To let go of fear, self-doubt, and distractions that don’t belong to you.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I clinging to that’s no longer mine to carry?
  • What fears or stories need to die so I can finally live?

The first step isn’t action. It’s release.

The world will tell you urgency and hustle are the way forward.

But alignment?

That’s the real rebellion.

Watch the first video now and start shedding the resistance that's keeping you stuck while also strategically using it as your biggest ally (you can also click the photo below).

Your life doesn’t have to feel heavy.

The light you’ve been searching for is already within you.

It’s waiting to shine as soon as you release what no longer serves you—whether it’s toxic work environments, unhealthy relationships, self-doubt, or anything that keeps you from stepping fully into your truth.

This isn’t just your year—it’s your season of transformation.

Here’s to releasing, aligning, and blooming into your fullest self.

As always let me know what's come up for you by responding directly to this email—I respond to every email. 🙂

Defying Resistance

You can read all the books. Do all the healing. Know exactly what needs to change. And still feel stuck. I’ve been a therapist for over 20 years. After grief cracked everything open, I left the U.S. and began a nomadic journey through 25+ countries. I thought I was starting over, but the patterns I hadn’t faced kept following me. Eventually, running turned into listening. Grief became growth. What felt like hesitation revealed something deeper, a part of me that didn’t feel ready yet. Now I help people who are tired of hesitating, overthinking, or holding back. Not because they don’t know what to do, but because something deeper still needs tending. What I share here helped me move forward when I didn’t think I could. Maybe it will meet you there too.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. Albert Einstein Hey Reader, As we settle deeper into autumn, November invites us to pause and reflect on the strength we’ve built along the way. These cycles teach us the importance of letting go, embracing rest, and preparing for new growth. It’s also a season to express gratitude—not just for the material...
